The Ankh, also known as key of life, the original cross, and key of the Nile or crux ansata (Latin meaning "cross with a handle"), was the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic character that read "eternal life". It is a reminder that life is eternal and that spirit lives on and passes through many stages of evolution before reaching enlightenment.
